About Dr. Robin West.

Robin West was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Robin is a wife, mother, homemaker, and the founder of the annual Mother’s Day Tea Fundraiser started in 2012, Owner of Something Unique Events & More event planning company, Co-founder of WEPLAN (Wedding & Event Planners License Academy Network) and an Ambassador for Children, Project Fundraising Coordinator for the On The Playground project in Nairobi, Kenya.
Robin is a graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta, Georgia with the degree in Fashion Merchandise and Business Marketing. She also attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana for Architecture and Design and attended Martin University which is a HBCU in Indianapolis.
In 1995 Robin proved her leadership and management skills in the professional arena by working her way up the ranks and becoming a “Group Sales Manager” within the retail department store industry. For over 10 years Robin was in management for Macy’s in multiple states including Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas.
While at Macy’s she spearheaded several giveback programs including the annual “Go Red for Women”, American Heart Association Foundation Charity Event, The Disable Children Fashion Show Fundraiser in Atlanta, GA, and the “Shop For A Cause” Nationwide Campaign. Robin’s heart for helping others landed her a featured article in the Indianapolis Lifestyle Magazine in 2005 for her contribution during the “Laughter is the Best Medicine” Charity Event.
After leaving Macy’s Robin started her own annual Mother’s Day Charity Event in Indianapolis, Indiana benefiting outreach programs that give back to their community. She partners with organizations that directly benefit batter women, children and the homeless. Robin also plans several yearly women’s stress-free, self- improvement and sisterhood retreats.
Robin is a natural humanitarian Together, Robin and her husband Dr. Ruben West have fostered many projects to improve communities, build children and empower men and women of various ages. These Projects include:
Glorious Life Learning Center School Finished classroom building and painting - provided books, learning materials and sponsorship for the children – ongoing for 4 years
Built and donated the Rosetta M. West Kitchen and Dinning Facility in the Nunguni, Kilungu Village
Robinson’s Playground Project (Still under construction) - Robin's Son
Robin and her husband Dr. Ruben West run the Youth Empowerment Seminars (YES) training youth on leadership and personal development.
